My personal practice is motivated by written wisdom I seek out and fall upon, spoken offerings from my teachers in the flesh, and the glorious bounty of the natural world and man-made creative world. While I've largely integrated my Yoga into performance and teaching up to this point, I sense my pathway shifting towards more pronounced seva - or service, by way of further study, further writing, further teaching, and further care and building of community. How all this will develop remains to be seen, but in my desires to deepen my knowledge of the mind and body and spirit, to travel, to live more sustainably, to create a space to hold intellectual and visceral gatherings and give back, I recognize the presence of Yoga that has beautifully sifted into my life. The compassion, the tolerance, the curiosity, the clarity...all this and more has empowered me to look after my health and wellness and just as importantly, that of others and the environment we live within. My greatest hope is that I can, over the course of my lifetime, harness the power and inspiration of this practice to spur meaningful reflection and action, so that together we can birth a more peaceful world that remains mindful of all beings.

what inspirations in your life do you use in your teaching and how?

how has your study of yoga or connection to our community related to a project or pathway in your life?

It's hard to believe my yoga practice spans over ten years now. What began as a focus on the physical work of asana has evolved, and continues to evolve into a daily practice on and very much off the mat. My asana and budding meditation practices have shifted my temperament in their cultivation of presence and calm. Emotion is a powerful factor in my life, and I must admit that anxiety used to be as well; my gratitude for the grounding reality check of this work is overwhelming. The journey that TaraMarie so graciously set me out on is one that arises amidst countless moments in even just one day, and so I strive to offer such a lifeline to my students too. And yet, a permeability exists between teacher and student; we serve each other. It is this opportunity for lifelong learning and sharing, in the individual realm and in community, that encourages me to walk deeper into this world of study and action.
