Kristin grew up in Philadelphia, PA where she first received her dance training at the Rock School of the Pennsylvania Ballet before attending both the School of American Ballet as well as the Miami City Ballet School. After a year-long struggle with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, she started studying modern dance with mentor Cheryl Clark while earning a B.A. in History from Drew University and later continued to train under Marion Hopkins as she pursued a Masters in History from UNC Chapel Hill. In 2012, Kristin received an M.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University where she performed original works by Pamela Pietro, Sydney Skybetter, and John-Mark Owen and went on to dance with Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance and Ensemble Dance. She is now enjoying the California sun on faculty at AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts, Santa Monica College, and Relativity School and as a company member of JESSICA KONDRATH | THE MOVEMENT. Also a certified and licensed yoga teacher and Mind Body Dancer® teacher through the Perri Institute for Mind and Body, as well as a Reiki Master and an Integrated Energy Therapy Practitioner, Kristin continues to investigate the body in a myriad of ways, most recently working on a performance piece and documentary about children living with Juvenile Arthritis.

how has your study of yoga related to a project or pathway in your life?

My study of yoga has only made more clear for me the connection between all parts of ourselves - the mind, the body, and the spirit. It's through caring for our whole self that we stay happy and healthy. As I continue to move forward on my own healing journey from JRA, I consistently come back to the knowledge of this connection that I gained from my yoga studies, as well as the tools that my studies have given me: the tools to strengthen that mind body connection. My newest project, Still Moving, aims to bring all that I have learned to others with JA who are on their own healing journeys, so that they too can find health and wellness.
